Thrive 2.0 Upgrade: Customer FAQ

Answers to your biggest questions about the upgrade process

Written by Kelsey Chan

Thrive 2.0 is the next version of Thrive, designed to help executive talent teams work faster, stay aligned, and turn talent activity into better decisions. The core work you do in Thrive stays the same, but the day-to-day experience gets meaningfully better.

Read on to learn more details about the upgrade process to help your team prepare.

1. What is Thrive 2.0?

Thrive 2.0 keeps the same core job—running projects, managing candidates, evaluating talent, collaborating with stakeholders—but improves how that work gets done.

You can expect:

  • A faster, clearer interface that keeps more work in context

  • A drag-and-drop project experience

  • A Hub that helps teams see what to do next

  • Built-in project analytics

  • More flexible configuration for fields, tags, and permissions

  • Better stakeholder collaboration and reporting outputs

  • Practical AI that helps with summaries, search, and call preparation

2. When can I upgrade to Thrive 2.0?

All customers will be eligible to upgrade by the end of 2026. Our team will let you know a month in advance of when you are eligible to upgrade to the new experience.

When you are eligible, we will invite you into a sandbox environment a month in advance to experience the new look and features. Our goal is to ensure your team feels prepared and excited about the new experience. If you have timing concerns, your Customer Success Manager is available to discuss what makes sense together.

3. What happens to my data?

We know this is an important one. Thrive will handle the upgrade of your core data into the new experience. That includes projects, people records, candidate history, notes, scorecards, and related workflows.

For some fields, where information is being grouped into a new structure, we will apply a mapping.

4. How long will the upgrade process take?

Upgrades will occur over the weekend to minimize disruptions. Your team will wrap up work on the Friday of your upgrade weekend by 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Once this cutoff period is in effect, you will no longer have access to your current environment. Our team will handle the upgrade over the weekend to ensure your data is populated in Thrive 2.0. Your team will receive log in instructions to access Thrive 2.0 beginning Monday morning.

5. Will logins, passwords, or access change?

On your upgrade launch date, your team will access Thrive 2.0 through a new URL that our team will provide.

Everyone on your team will be asked to reset their password upon your initial login. We will send simple instructions for that ahead of time to make it as smooth as possible.

If members of your team bookmark the old Thrive URL today, we expect them to be redirected to the new location so they are not left searching for where to go.

If you have single sign-on or special access requirements, we will review and confirm that as part of your upgrade planning.

6. How can we prepare for the upgrade to 2.0?

Right now, the best thing you can do is:

  1. Identify the right internal owners for communications about the upgrade, if you have not already

  2. Attend an upcoming webinar to explore the new experience

  3. Familiarize your team with our video onboarding resources to get a feel for what is new and may will feel different

  4. Let us know if there are any large initiatives, board meetings, or client deadlines our team should plan around

7. Will our day-to-day workflow change?

Some things will feel different, and we want to be clear about that upfront. You will see:

  • New names for familiar concepts like Searches, Contacts, and Assessments

  • A new navigation and project experience

  • Stronger analytics and collaboration tools

  • More control for admins

A short list of 1.0 workflows is being retired or handled differently in 2.0, including things like sending email from inside Thrive, email templates, scheduled reports, and Excel-format exports. If your team uses any of those workflows regularly, know that we have alternative (and often superior) ways to achieve your goals in Thrive 2.0, and we will help you plan for it.

8. Will we get Thrive 2.0 training?

Yes. Your team will get:

  • Access to our AI chatbot for instant answers, with a direct line to human support

  • Live office hours sessions you can join

  • Direct support from your Customer Success Manager

By default, most teams prepare using the on-demand resources. If you feel your team would benefit from live training, please tell us and we will discuss what makes sense for your account.

9. What if we need more time?

Our goal is to propose timing that works for your team and adjust if needed. You can work with your Customer Success Manager to defer your proposed window until your team feels ready.

10. What generative AI capabilities exist in Thrive 2.0?

Thrive 2.0 integrates a variety of generative AI tools designed to simplify and enhance the recruitment process. The core capabilities include:

  • Automated Candidate Summaries: The platform can automatically write summaries of candidates by analyzing their employment history, education, candidacy details, and recruiter notes.

  • Job Description Generation: Users can instantly create fully formatted job postings simply by providing a job title and the client's company name.

  • Natural Language Search: Instead of manually selecting criteria, users can type conversational search queries, which the AI automatically translates into structured filters for locations, job titles, companies, and more.

  • Smart Candidate Recommendations: The AI automatically expands search terms to find candidates with similar or related job titles.

  • Intelligent Sorting and Validation: The system analyzes the intent behind a user's search, validates that the extracted information is accurate, and automatically reranks the results so the most relevant profiles appear at the top.

11. What AI privacy and security controls are in place in Thrive 2.0?

  • Data Protection: Customers can opt out of sharing data with Thrive to improve its AI models

  • Human Oversight: The AI is designed to provide guidance and recommendations that can always be overridden by a human user

  • Complete Opt-Out: Customers maintain full control and can completely disable all AI functionality at the organizational level if they choose

12. What about compliance and permissions?

Thrive 2.0 includes more granular roles and permissions, as well as stronger sharing controls. That means your team will have better control over access and confidential information in 2.0 than you may have had before.

We do not expect your existing roles to map one-to-one, so we will work with you on how they should be structured in 2.0 as part of the readiness process.

If your organization has compliance or approval processes that need to be considered, please flag them with us so we can involve the right people in parallel.

13. How do I communicate this change to clients?

The key change for clients is that their experience is upgraded too, with an all-new client portal makes candidate data more accessible and actionable than ever for collaborators.

This training guide contains talking points for how to walk clients and stakeholders through collaborating via the portal. Additionally, you can personalize this email template to send to clients in advance of your upgrade date.
